WHO WE ARE

LEADERSHIP COMMUNICATIONS

G.Rickey was established in 2019 by Jacob Palalay and Seth Kwiecien around shared affinities for communications, organizing and design. Converting their freelance hustle into G.Rickey, LLC created an opportunity to fulfill their longtime dream of building something together while elevating the campaigns that inspire them and consulting with the diverse small businesses that make Washington exceptional.

OUR APPROACH

We build unique, targeted campaigns focused on attracting the attention you deserve. Incorporating naturally as an extension of your existing team, we expand your capabilities by providing the support and editorial direction you need to be impactful. Once we understand your goals, our team's sole pursuit is the creative and uplifting impression you make on your community—from copywriting and design to earned media and political organizing.

OUR CAPABILITIES

OUR TEAM

We believe collaborative work is key to growing a small business. We prioritize opportunities to partner with other local-, small- and/or diverse-owned businesses. Our strategic partnerships simplify the process by keeping all aspects of your campaign within our single integrated team, strengthening the final results while reserving the boutique experience and in-house service you value.

WHY G.RICKEY?

G.Rickey is named after the iconic Gin Rickey, going back over 130 years to the former Shoomaker's bar in downtown Washington, D.C. It was a collaboration between bartender George A. Williamson and Democratic lobbyist Joe Rickey (some claim on Dec. 3, 1883, as result of celebration that John Carlisle was sworn in as 31st Speaker of the House, a winning bet by frequent gambler Rickey.)

Today, the Gin Rickey is the official drink of the capital. The story of the Gin Rickey recalls traditional D.C. norms—coming together at the end of the day to share a drink—allowing the business of this town to be what brings us together, not divides. The story of the Gin Rickey is a story of hospitality, local business and community.

At the end of the day when you unwind and share your ambitions with friends over a drink, what dream do you describe? Let G.Rickey help you bring that to life. Cheers!

THE G.RICKEY GIN RICKEY

How to make a "Grickey"

The original drink actually called for bourbon. In a spirit of authenticity, we recommend Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin—a brown gin with the essence of bourbon.

3 oz. Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin

  lime

  soda water

Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour gin over ice and add a squeeze of lime. Top with soda water and garnish with a lime wedge. Serve with a straw.
